It is September, but here in the Washington, D.C. area, it still feels a lot like summer and not fall. Fall has to be my favorite time of year. I get to snuggle up in cozy sweaters, wear boots and scarves, and drink my favorite hot Starbucks drinks. Since you all know I love a great indie designer, here is a peek at what is on my "get ready for fall" shopping list.<br />

I'm Tara, a lover of everything that looks, feels, and is fashion. I have to say, I have a very short term memory, but I think I have loved clothes since I was a little girl. I had more Barbie's than you could count, and dressed and re-dressed in the what seemed like millions of outfits they had. IF we fast forward a little, to the past I don't know 12 years, I have been surrounded by fashion. I began working in the retail industry straight out of high school, while attending college for my business degree. I absolutely love helping women to get dressed up and feel good about themselves. Over the past 3 years, I have attended school to get a degree in fashion. With that, I have had the best experiences. I have volunteered working shows at fashion week in NYC, went on buying trips for the small boutique I work for, met actual designers, among many other opportunities. <br />

<br /></div>
<div>
I have to say I have an obsession with indie designers (Independent Designers). Don't get me wrong, I love big brand name designers as well. Here is the reason I have fallen so deeply in love with indie designers. I hate seeing everyone walking around wear the same exact items, the same exact way, at the same exact time. I have this desire to be different, and with indie designers you can be. Another reason why I love indie designers, etsy.com. Etsy has opened by eyes to an online shopping place that makes me want to spend money like I have it! I could literally spend hours and hours on Etsy finding a million things I love, and trying to figure out how I would work it into my life.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So with that said, here at Indie Styles, you will see plenty of indie styles that I am currently loving. Be sure to check back frequently to see what I love, can't live without, and what I may be designing myself!</div>
